Tenerife Tango Juntos

Virginia and Jonatan are a young couple that moves the first steps as dance partners. Despite this, they have already consolidated their own style created by the great experience of both. Singularly they have been dancing tango for more than 10 years and today together their dance conveys all their experience.
Their classes are based on teaching the technique, going from the most basic to the most complex elements, but always with the idea of teaching a dance where the connection, the embrace and comfort of the couple, are the main target.
The tango of Virginia and Jonatan is original and unique. With a traditional base, they are in constant research of evolution, respecting the principles with which they have been formed. The hug, the game, the subtlety, and complicity, come together to make a sincere, heartfelt and very elegant couple.

Angela Quacquarella and Mauro Rossi, artistically known as ANyMA, together sentimentally and professionally since 2005.

Dancers at the 8th Campeonado Mundial de Baile de Tango in Buenos Aires, they teach permanently in Milan and province. Teachers regularly guests in France since 2013, in Genoa since 2016 and in Puglia since 2017, they are invited in Italy and abroad for festivals, stages, shows and performances (Finaltango Festival, Tangoemotion, Aix Les Bains Festival ….)

They have an intimate tango, focused on connection and simplicity, the comfort of execution, defined by many “voluptuous”, based on a profound technical knowledge.

Licia began to dance in 2007 Caribbean dances and standards and then she discovered the Argentine Tango. She has attended and still studies in workshops proposed by the most famous Argentinean dancers and teachers, among them: Gustavo Rosas and Gisela Natoli, Sebastian Arce and Mariana Montes, Pablo Veron, Miguel Angel Zotto and Diana Guspero, Rodrigo Corbata y Lucila Cionci, Fabian Peralta, Carlito Espinoza and Noelia Hurtado, Jorge Firpo, Milena Plebs, Alejandra Mantinan, Diego Riemer, Stefano Giudice and Marcela Guevara, Ariadna Naveira and Fernando Sanchez, Ruben and Sabrina Veliz and many others.

In 2011 and 2012 she participated in 4 competitions in the National Association of Dance Teachers obtaining 3 first places and a 2nd place in the combined sessions of Tango Argentino Milonga and Vals and in the session of  Tango Escenario.

In 2013 she obtained the Diploma of “Tango Teacher” (bronze, silver and gold level) supporting the exams at the National Association of Dance Teachers.

She has attended in Buenos Aires (AR) at the “Esquela Argentina of Tango” the 23rd Intensive Refinement Course de Estilo, Tecnica de baile y Musicalidad by the tango teachers Jorge Firpo, Aurora Lubiz, Raul Bravo, Olga Besio and Augusto Balizano.

In 2014, in collaboration with Romina Godoy professional dancer and choreographer of the international scene, they present “Week End of Tango” at the Terme di Genova Acquasanta, a two-day kermesse with internships and performances, where they performed together on a choreography based on the analysis of interiority, using art as an instrument of introspection to reach awareness and acceptance of the passing time.

During the training course he never neglected to learn “the other role” in order to activate a bivalent, detailed and subtle communication.

In 2015 she continued her training at first attending classes at her school, subsequently becoming owner of start-up courses of tango and milonga, a collaboration that will last until the beginning of 2017.

Licia from the end of 2016 to March 2017 lived in Buenos Aires where she continued her training as a teacher at the most prestigious tango schools of the capital and undertaking studies on Argentine folklore.

In May 2018 she participated as a guest teacher and collaborator at the 1st International Tango Festival in Maspalomas, and she had the privilege of dancing on the stage in the despedida show with Sebastian Arce and Mariana Montes, Jonatan Aguero and Virginia Pandolfi and the other tango teachers  invited.

In October 2018 in Malaga, she deepens her studies through the Pilates method “maintaining a perfect balance between body and mind” participating in the XXI Intensive Course for Pilates instructors, at the Pilates Málaga Center supported by the Federación Española de Pilates y Tai Chi. At the same time she teaches Tango at “Clases de Tango y Danza Paola Sánchez” proposing a series of stages on the theme of milonga.

Currently Licia teaches in Italy and Spain and continues her training abroad and in Italy with the best Argentine tango teachers.

Hyperion Ensemble was formed in 1992 as ensemble interested in contemporary music. From the very beginning, it has been deeply interested to the Piazzolla repertoire and to Tango in general. Hyperion has taken part, during its 26 years of activity in over 1000 shows, festivals and theatres all over Europe, offering a wide repertoire ranging from contemporary Tango to traditional Tango. Since its foundation has collaborated with various renowned  bandoneonists such as Luis Stazo, Juan Josè Mosalini, Daniel Binelli, Alfredo Marcucci; the regular bandoneonists in the Ensemble are Josè Luis Betancor, Dario Polonara and Christian Gerber, while the singers are actually the argentinian Martin Troncozo and Hernan Godoy. Hyperion Ensemble is regularly invited to the most renowned Tango Festivals all over Europe: Paris, Brussels, London, Barcelona (Sitges), Istanbul, Tarbes, Stokholm, Athens, Torino, Rome, Firenze, Genova, Mantova etc. Has musically accompanied many Shows with famous international Companies and dancers like “Tangovivo” with Union Tanguera of Esteban Moreno and Claudia Codega, “Tango x 2 “ with Miguel Angel Zotto, “Tango Metropolis” with Claudio Hoffmann and Daniel Binelli, “Conceptango” with the company of Leo Calvelli y Eugenia, “TangObsesion” with the company Leonardo Cuello, “Tango Nuevo” with Roberto Herrera’s company and, others. Ensemble’s record production has 9 CD’s: “Livin Tango” (1998) – “Boulevard Tango” (2000) – “Corso Buenos Aires” (2005) – “Buenos Aires hora cero” (2006) – “Hyperion Live in Paris”, with the special participation of Luis Stazo (2008), “Contemporanea Tango” with Antonella Ruggiero (2010), “Epoca de Oro” (2011), “Remembranzas” (2014), Tango 9 (2016), “Hasta siempre amor” (2018).

Tango-DJ “Punto y Branca” (Jorge Vacca) is one of the most popular and beloved tango DJs in the world. He started his career at the best milongas in Buenos Aires and have been playing tango music for more than ten years. Now he lives in Milan and DJs on regular milongas round whole Italy, as well as festivals and marathons all over the world. He has an amazing ability to feel the mood of the people on the dance floor and spice up the atmosphere to extremely high level.

Passionate tanguera discovers the interest in the decks a few years ago. Since then she began a course of personal study and internships in Buenos Aires with a great Argentine Tdj that led her to refine more and more the musical choices in milonga.

Her proposals range from the Guardia Vieja to modern orchestras with a particular fondness for the golden age of  tango of the 40s/50s.

Her peculiarity is the theme curtains, carefully chosen to conduct the evenings through a single fil rouge.

Tdj in important milongas in Genoa, she has musicized special events dedicated to the cultural diffusion of tango (ExpoTango, Our Last Tango, EssentialTango), milongas of solidarity (Tango for women, Tango for children, Alzheimer Italy, Notes of the heart) and important international festivals (Istanbul / Thessaloniki).

Tdj of the celebration event “100 anni di Cumparsita” at the Carlo Felice theatre in Genoa also promotes the diffusion of the Uruguayan tango.

Horacio Luis Gabriel Quota, born in Buenos Aires, son of Italians, from the age of 16 he feeds a burning passion for music and records. Since he was very young, he started to mix vinyl on city parties. In 2002 he arrives in Italy and dedicates himself to the activity of sound technician and lighting in the show. When he arrived in Rome he began to musicalize only Tango making himself known quickly in the milongas of the capital. The growing passion for Tango has led him to play in the most famous Roman milongas and in many Tango festivals and events throughout Italy. He is characterized by a tendency to traditional tango with an opening towards the other musical colours inspired and enlivened fundamentally by the public present in milonga.

El Comandante de los Cortineros comes from Berlin and is passionate and dedicated as a dancer and DJ. The Tango Argentino since he came into contact with him in 2005. From that time on, there was no going back for him. He began to collect music of the old masters incessantly and began in 2009 as a DJ. His favourite orchestras include Caló, Troilo, Tanturi, D’Arienzo, di Sarli, Fresedoto name but a few. Who has experienced El comandante once, will gladly do it again, because his selection of music, compiled with deepest tango beads, infects everyone so much that you don’t want to let go of each other’s hugs. He is also particularly keen to present more unknown tango titles to a broad audience in order to showcase the diversity of music.and tango culture. For this purpose, he restores old audio and video recordings with great effort and dedication,to play them back on the milongas.El comandante has participated among many other milongas in the most famous, big Berlin milongas like Ballhaus Walzerlinksgestrickt, La milonga Villa Kreuzberg, Ballhaus Rixdorf, Bebop, beach bar at Monbijou Park,Tangonacht at the WeRK36, Berlinos Aires Milonga.

Directors and teachers of the “Tango Club of the ULPGC” since 2008. Teachers of “Tango Diffusion Canary Islands” since 2015. They organize and musicalize the Milonga “Patio de la Morocha” since 2010. They have musicized in “Milongueando Gran Canaria” and “Milongueando Tenerife” since 2013, in “La Itinerenate del Club” (Gran Canaria) and “Tanda Abierta” (Tenerife) and in Madrid in “Bien Porteña” and “La Milonga del Arte” 2017 and in the 1st Festival of Maspalomas 2018.

Domingo Rodríguez began his career as a tdj in 2008, when he saw performing Maestro Fabián Salas. He develops his passion for playing and dancing in the Tango Club of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria since 2009, to later supplement his training with Ezequiel Herrera and María Antonieta Tuozzo in Madrid, among other teachers.

With the Milonga “La Garufa” of Tenerife, he reaches his maturity at the end of 2011. His line of musicalization focuses on Buenos Aires, with a traditional and classic puncture oriented to the 40s, with incursions in the 30s and 50s and some brushstrokes of the most successful live orchestras. However, he is distinguished by a very vigorous musicalization in the melodic-rhythmic alternation, with the increasing construction of energy by means of strongly contrasted batches.

From 2011 until now, he adds to his passion the role of tango events ‘ organiser, by realizing tango meetings, twinnings, milongas, practices, workshops, conferences, etc  for various private entities and public administrations of the Canary Islands.

In 2018, the social anxiety and impulse made him co-found together with a dozen milongueros, the non-profit Cultural Association of the Canary Islands Government “Factoria Milonguera”, dedicated to enlarge the base of tango-addicts in the islands, and give to know the culture of this dance to the new generations. To this end, he organizes, among other activities, the Tango Annual Meeting of Tenerife every December, the “Ten + Tango”.

In 2015, her journey began with the professors of the Tango Club of the University of Las Palmas de GC, Manuel Goicoechea and Teresa Amorós, with the realization of the “VI Workshop of initiation to Argentine tango”. After the completion of some musicalization courses, from 2016, in collaboration with Tango Diffusion Canary Islands (Tango Club of the ULPGC) I commissioned to musicize some editions of the Milonga “La Itinerante del Club”, and participated in the organization and musicalization of the annual international meetings “Milongueando Gran Canaria” and “Milongueando Tenerife”.

Since April 2017, she has collaborated in the organization of the fortnightly Milonga “Los Mareados Canarias”, regularly playing monthly.

Some other milongas: “Milonga Especial de Twinning Don Tango Club with the island of Tenerife” (May 2018), solidarity event “Solidario Tango Canarias” organized by Fábrica La Isleta (September 2018). Soon she will participate in the international tango meeting “Ten + Tango 2018”, which will be held on the island of Tenerife.

Milonguero and passionate about tango. He is from the Canary Islands resident in the south of Tenerife.

His milongas are characterized by the energy and dynamism in his musical selection from the golden age of tango.

Ignazio D’Arpa began his professional activity as a DJ in Turin in 2004.
He has musicalized in the best Piedmontese Milongas:
in Turin, Alessandria, Carmagnola, Piobesi, Grugliasco;
and Italians:
in Genoa, San Remo, Bergamo, Milan, Padua, Florence, Alghero;
and in Buenos Aires at the legendary “Salon Canning” and “Portenio y bailarin”
He is currently responsible for the management of one of the biggest Italian summer milongas: “La Milonga di Miss Penelope” in Grugliasco just outside Turin.
