The project “EUPlay – The Birth of Europe through Music” was produced by N.E.M.O.  geie and co-financed by the European Community, Culture Programme 2007-2013. It narrated, through music, the period in Europe when ideas of democracy, freedom and the European identity were taking shape.

Stories from actual letters written by Mazzini, George Sand, Niccolò Paganini, Chopin, Wiesniasky, Mendelssohn were told along with those of many other intellectuals and composers of the nineteenth century including Europeans from Genoa, Warsaw, Oxford and Brussels.  The use of chamber music, an exceptional instrument for historical narration, let us feel their enthusiasm and relive such exciting moments from one of the most intense periods in European history

Master Classes, were part of the project for young musicians from all participating countries, consisted of a European competition for composers and performers and the creation of a social music network coordinated with the official website .

Numerous patronages and prizes were awarded, including the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Special Accession of the President of Italian Republic  Giorgio Napolitano.
