Ivan Terrazas and Sara Grdan

Ivan is from Mendoza, Argentina, where he started his artistic career as a soloist at 12 years of age. He was trained by his parents Eduardo Terrazas and Beatriz Herrera in competition Malambo and other forms of Argentine Folklore, as well as classical ballet and Argentine Tango. Upon his arrival in the United States, Ivan added salsa and tap to his repertoire.

Kinetic since an early age, Sara studied regional folklore dance and classical ballet technique in Zagreb, Croatia. Her obsession with Argentine Tango started in the late 1990s at the milonga, and she subsequently learned Argentine folklore. In order to better understand body mechanics and to teach movement technique, Sara also became a Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis instructor.

Ivan and Sara met in New York City and have dedicated themselves with passion and intensity to Argentine Tango. Trained primarily by Diego DiFalco, Pablo Pugliese and Natalia Hills, and also drawing from many other influences, such as Jorge Torres, Roberto Herrera, Guillermina Quiroga, Gabriel Misse, Carlitos Perez and Raul Bravo, together they are among the youngest and most recognized teachers and performers in the world of Argentine Tango. As instructors, they have developed a modern systemic approach to teaching traditional tango. Their goal as teachers is to instill strong fundamentals by emphasizing technique, analytical thinking, logic, naturalness and comfort in both the close and open embrace. Ivan and Sara encourage students to look for connection, quality of movement, creative expression and musicality to make their dance uniquely their own.

After living for 7 years in United States and Argentina, Ivan and Sara are currently based in Europe, and in addition to being members of the prestigious company ‘Tangueros del Sur’ directed by Natalia Hills, they have recently performed with ‘Tangox2’ and ‘Miguel Zotto in Concert’ directed by Miguel Angel Zotto, ‘Obsesion Tango’ directed by Tamara Bisceglia, and ‘Compania Roberto Herrera’ directed by Roberto Herrera. In addition to their theatre credentials, Ivan and Sara are festival and workshop favorites, and have participated, among others, at the Belgrade Tango Encuentro, Sultans Tango Festival in Istanbul, Perugia Tango Festival, and Puerto Rico International Tango Festival.

Their latest project involves creating a curriculum for the online tango video instruction giant Tangomeet. Ivan and Sara’s online teaching videos will appear in the spring of 2016.

Florencia and Hernan

Florencia Labiano and Hernan Rodriguez, from Buenos Aires, born in the middle of Tango Porteño; since 2015, they are permanent teachers of the “Accademia del Tango” Genoa.
Talented, patient and cheerful, are their characteristics.
In every performance they transmit the essence and true technique of Argentine Tango, full of joy and passion.

Ensemble Hyperion Orchestra

Hyperion Ensemble was formed in 1992 as ensemble interested in contemporary music. From the very beginning, it has been deeply interested to the Piazzolla repertoire and to Tango in general. Hyperion has taken part, during its 22 years of activity in over 880 shows, festivals and theatres all over Europe, offering a wide repertoire ranging from contemporary Tango to traditional Tango. Since its foundation has collaborated with various renowned bandoneonists such as Luis Stazo, Juan Josè Mosalini, Daniel Binelli, Alfredo Marcucci; the regular bandoneonists in the Ensemble are Josè Luis Betancor, Dario Polonara and Christian Gerber, while the singer is actually the argentinian Ruben Peloni. Hyperion Ensemble is regularly invited to the most renowned Tango Festivals all over Europe: Paris, Brussels, London, Barcelona (Sitges), Istanbul, Tarbes, Stokholm, Athens, Torino, Rome, Firenze, Genova, Mantova etc. Has musically accompanied many Shows with famous international Companies and dancers like “Tangovivo” with Union Tanguera of Esteban Moreno and Claudia Codega, “Tango x 2 “ with Miguel Angel Zotto, “Tango Metropolis” with Claudio Hoffmann and Daniel Binelli, “Conceptango” with the company of Leo Calvelli y Eugenia, “TangObsesion” with the company Leonardo Cuello, “Tango Nuevo” with Roberto Herrera’s company and, others: in february 2015 Ensemble took part to the german Tour of Gustavo Russo’s Company in the show Tango in Red. In this occasions Ensemble has appeared in the most famous theatre scenes over Europe, such as Teatro Regio and Auditorium Lingotto in Turin, Gewandhaus in Leipzig, Darmstadtium in Darmstadt, Brucknerhaus in Linz, Die Glocke in Bremen Auditorium della Conciliazione in Rome, Dom Musyck a Mosca, Teatro Regina Victoria in San Sebastian, Trui teatro in Palma de Mallorca, Concert Noble Bruxelles, Mustafa Kemal Merkezi in Istanbul, Blue Note in Milan … The Ensemble has often performed with others famous dancers as Sebastian Arce and Mariana Montes, Chicho Frumboli and Juana Sepulveda, Javier Rodriguez, etc. in several venues and Festival around Europe. Often the ensemble features soloists like Cristina Vilallonga, Aureliano Marin, Silvia Lallana (voice), Franco Luciani (harmonic), Luis Bacalov (composer and pianist), Cesar Angeleri (guitar). Recently began collaborating with the singer Antonella Ruggiero in theshow “Contemporanea Tango”. Has often performed accompanied by Symphonic orchestra, mainly with the 45 musicians of the Orchestra Filarmonica Italiana. Ensemble’s record production has seven CD’s: “Livin Tango” (1998) – “Boulevard Tango” (2000) – “Corso Buenos Aires” (2005) – “Buenos Aires hora cero” (2006) – “Hyperion Live in Paris”, with the special participation of Luis Stazo (2008), “Contemporanea Tango” with Antonella Ruggiero (2010), “Epoca de Oro” (2011), “Remembranzas” (2014).
